LAKE EFFECT

These photographs focus on the shores of Lake Michigan where I grew up and often return to — the place where water and wind meet sand and are constantly reshaped. By moving in close, the images draw attention to details, allowing small elements of the beach to take on a larger presence. I use photography as a way to examine a landscape that is both familiar to me and abstract.   Change is a constant. The work is a quiet witness to something more powerful and larger than ourselves.
