Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl
Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl Planned for “Local Yarn Store Day”
Four local yarn shops will have events, promotions and prizes on Saturday, April 29, 2023
Four local yarn shops are planning the second annual Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl to celebrate Local Yarn Store Day on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10am – 6pm. Needlecrafters are encouraged to visit all four shops and have their Yarn Crawl Passport stamped to be eligible for prizes. The participating shops are:
· Blossburg Company Store at 224 Main Street, Blossburg, PA
· Fiber Arts in the Glen at 315 N. Franklin St, Watkins Glen, NY
· Rabbit Row Yarns & Haberdashery at 38 W. Market St, Corning, NY
· Wooly Minded at 91 E. Market St, Corning, NY
The Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl is an event for knitters, crocheters, spinners and weavers to travel from store to store exploring what each has to offer and finding inspiration for new projects. Each shop is planning unique promotions, trunk shows as well as exclusive fiber products for the festivities. Participants are encouraged to check out the Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl Facebook Group for event promotions, parking, dining, and carpool information.
Best friends Nancy Sidell and Margaret Radek, of Wellsboro, PA, attended last year’s crawl and had this to say: “Four yarn shops in one day AND a chance to spend time with my best friend? Yes, please! Seeing the differences in products between each shop, being surrounded by other knitting fans, getting inspired by awesome projects, and, of course, laughing together was what we remember most about last year's yarn crawl. We have only one complaint: neither of us won any of the great prizes that each shop was giving away. But there’s always this year!”
Caton fiber crafter, Tina Nagle, attended last year too, "My dear crafty friend, Amy, and I needed a ‘run around the country day’ to ourselves. The yarn crawl afforded the exact opportunity. We decided to start and end in Corning. I wanted fiber and had my eye on several notions at Rabbit Row Yarns so that's where we started. We plan to do it again this year. I've spun most of the fiber I picked up last year. And fingers crossed I'll win another door prize, or 2."
The shop owners say, “As small business owners, we are thrilled to host the Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl again this year. Each shop showcases the immense variety of fiber products and a unique sense of community. We welcome our existing customers and encourage new fiber and needle art makers to come celebrate with us!
