Aaron Gies, the Democratic Party and Working Families Party candidate for New York’s 23rd Congressional District (NY23), said he is not familiar with the details of the Cornell University alleged sexual assault case filed by “Jane Doe” on Sept. 14, but he is open to reviewing Title IX if elected in November.

Some students and professors at Binghamton University held a rally last week in support of sociology professor Ana Maria Candela, who came under fire recently for an affirmative action policy on her syllabus.

For several years, Cornell University has had more Title IX investigations opened with the Office of Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Education than any other college or university.
