An Afternoon of Overtures
MEDIA RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION
AUBURN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA CONCERT
“An Afternoon of Overtures” by the Auburn Chamber Orchestra (ACO) will be presented on Sunday, May 3rd at The REV/Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, 6877 East Lake Road, Auburn, NY, 13021.
This concert, conducted by Dr. Victor Vallo, Jr., is a tribute to some of the greatest overtures ever written by some of the greatest composers. While overtures are performed at the beginning of operas, many of these overtures have become so famous that they are now considered concert pieces by themselves. Enjoy this musical journey through the centuries of overtures from around the world including:
Mozart The Impresario Overture
Beethoven Egmont Overture
Von Suppe The Light Cavalry Overture
Verdi Nabucco Overture
Glinka Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture
Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture
The Auburn Chamber Orchestra is in its 39th concert season. The orchestra musicians come from a wide range of age groups, communities and professions.
This family-friendly event, which is open to the public, is free, although donations are greatly appreciated. For further information about Auburn Chamber Orchestra, go to www.auburnchamberorchestra.com or visit us on Facebook.
