Join us at the United Methodist Church for a FREE event for the entire family! The REV Theatre Company out of Auburn, NY is a dynamic arts organization committed to creating theatrical experiences at the highest levels of artistic integrity. It leverages the power of the arts as a tool for entertainment, education, social awareness and cultural development in its community and in the region. The story of Rumpelstiltskin has been told and retold throughout the ages, despite its obvious flaws. When The Miller’s Daughter starts to question her Father’s poor decision making, her King’s greediness, and the shady deal proposed by a funny little man, the whole fairy tale begins to unravel. The Miller’s Daughter breaks through the fourth wall and enlists the help of the audience to fix her broken story and spin a new tale. Made possible in part with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership.
We will meet at The Nicholson Diner72 Main Street, Nicholson PA 18446
Join self-taught artist Mark McLychok for a plein air painting workshop focused on capturing the monumental presence and fleeting atmosphere of the Nicholson Viaduct. Rooted in deep observation and an appreciation for the overlooked, Mark’s approach emphasizes light, form, and the quiet power of the everyday.
We’ll begin with a demonstration of Mark’s process—from initial composition and quick sketch to value study and underpainting. Participants will learn how to build a painting through transparent washes, define strong darks, and bring the work to life with final details and highlights.
This workshop is ideal for painters who want to hone their skills in capturing light, space, and structure in a real-world setting. All levels welcome; bring your own materials (we will provide some too) and prepare to be inspired by the massive elegance of the viaduct and the rich textures of its surroundings.

Did you know that dragonflies start their lives underwater, have been called "mosquito hawks", do not sting, and have some of the most amazing behaviors and color patterns? Broome County is home to over 100 species of dragonflies and damselflies. Our program will start with a dragonfly overview, including a look at their incredible life cycle. We will explore some amazing adaptations and have an opportunity to view live adult dragonflies and their aquatic young (nymphs). We will show you how to catch, hold, and release dragonflies unharmed as a lead in to the second half of the program. Participants will have an opportunity to try their hand at catching adult dragonflies and damselflies, viewing "up close and personal" before releasing them. Note: Touching or holding these insects is not a requirement for the program.
Open to all ages including adults, but the program is best for children at least 5 years old and older. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, August 2nd from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Greenwood Park.
Registration is free but required, and please register all members of your group separately.
Presented in partnership with Broome County Parks.
Delaware Pantry is pleased to welcome New York artist (and psychotherapist!) Robin Kappy. Beginning her career as an artist at Parsons, she spent time as a commercial artist before becoming a social worker and psychotherapist. She returned to life as an artist in 2006 and has since been featured in many shows and won numerous awards. She’s built time in the Catskills into her life for years. We’ve followed her work for several years and believe it's a perfect fit for our space. In the words of the artist, “Working within the portrait and landscape painting traditions, I use layered tones and colors to evoke the softness of distance, the hush of twilight and close observation of natural forms. I am not seeking to portray a literal place, but to evoke a portal where viewers can slow down, breathe, and enter expansive and eternal spaces.”Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, August 2nd, from 2-5pm. Refreshments will be served. Robin’s show will run from its opening through September 14th. Delaware Pantry is open Wednesday through Saturday from 1-4pm. Find Delaware Pantry at River Meadow Farm, located on the Little Delaware River, 21780 NY 28, Delhi, NY, four miles east of Delhi.
