Unofficial results show Kraham leading Democrat Miles Burnett by 696 votes, or just under 54 percent of the vote, with all districts reporting.

Republican incumbent Jared Kraham will debate Democratic challenger Miles Burnett in a live debate moderated by WSKG’s Phoebe Taylor-Vuolo and Celia Clarke on October 15.

The candidates traded volleys after an old video of the challenger was made public. A city council member shared her feelings about the saga at Wednesday's council meeting.

Kraham, a Republican, was first elected in 2021, after serving as deputy mayor for eight years under former Mayor Rich David. He is being challenged by Democrat Miles Burnett, who launched his campaign last month.

Burnett previously worked as deputy chief of staff for Democratic state Sen. Lea Webb, whose district includes Binghamton. He is the first candidate this year to publicly announce a run for mayor.
