Bampa’s House (Corning Comfort Care, Inc.), a nonprofit organization that serves the Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler County area. A comfort care home is a beautiful, comfortable setting where individuals can reside if they have six months or less to live. It provides an alternative for those who do not have access to quality care at home and do not wish to go to a nursing home. Our goal at Bampa’s House is to provide a home-like environment for loved ones to receive hospice care in a comfortable, safe, and peaceful atmosphere.
There is no financial cost to the residents or their families for the care provided at Bampa’s House, and we do not receive reimbursement from insurance or government healthcare programs. However, the average daily cost to care for each resident is approximately $360, making community support essential to sustaining our mission. Since opening our doors in September 2020, we have had the privilege of caring for more than 125 residents and supporting their families and friends. With compassion at the heart of everything we do, our trained, community-based volunteer caregivers provide comfort and dignity in a warm, peaceful, and home-like environment.
