Jul 11 Saturday
Join us for our second show of our 20th Season with our production of "The Cottage” by Sandy Rustin, running from June 26 – July 12.
"The Cottage" is a comic romp and madcap bedroom farce set in a surprisingly crowded cottage retreat in the 1920s British countryside, where the extramarital misadventures of three couples collide in a whirlwind of secrets, seductions, and increasingly absurd revelations. As passions flare and plans unravel, what begins as a discreet getaway spirals into a chaotic game of deception, desire, and the occasional threat of murder. Fast-paced, witty, and delightfully outrageous, it is a sparkling homage to classic British farce, with nods to Oscar Wilde, Monty Python, and Benny Hill.
Join us for this outrageous comedy at Chenango River Theatre, the area's only AEA professional theatre, running from June 26 through July 12. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm, plus Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. NOTE – Saturday, July 4th will be a special 2:00pm matinee performance (instead of evening). All performances start on time. Recommended for mature audiences 12+.

The Stagecoach Run Art Festival is turning 30!
Many great things were just getting their start in the 1990s – the Internet, the Franklin Stage Company, Bright Hill Press, and the first art tour in the Catskills, the Stagecoach Run Art Festival. The all-volunteer planning committee is working to make this Stagecoach Run the best ever!
Established in 1996, the Stagecoach Run Art Festival is a self-guided tour of venues surrounding the destination village of Franklin. The strong art community in Franklin and its sister village, Treadwell, led to the establishment of an annual event devoted to promoting the visual arts. “Stagecoach” got its name from the Catskill Turnpike, which was created in 1804 and eventually extended from the Hudson River all the way to Erie, Pennsylvania. Travelers on County Route 14 and State Route 357, which becomes Main Street in Franklin, can still spot the stone signposts left from those days.
The countryside around Franklin is some of the loveliest in the Catskills, and the Stagecoach Run Art Festival allows visitors to tour from venue to venue at their own pace. The 2026 Stagecoach Run Art Festival features more than 40 artists in a variety of disciplines, from painting and sculpture to ceramics and mixed media. Maps of participating sites are available at many locations throughout the area and at each venue. Artists will be on hand to discuss their work, and many pieces are available for purchase.
This year’s events kick off with the opening of the Spotlight Show at Bright Hill Press in Treadwell on Saturday, June 20. The show will contain a representative work of art from each participating artist and will continue through the end of the Festival on July 12. Works purchased at the Spotlight Show support both the artist and Bright Hill.
During the festival weekend, there will be dining options in both Franklin and Treadwell. Look for details about artists, venues, and dining options on Facebook and Instagram.
Franklin and Treadwell are located midway between Delhi and Oneonta, about two and a half hours from the George Washington Bridge.

Who lives under the rocks in the creeks and streams that run through our parks and backyards—and what can they tell us about water quality and ecosystem health? Join CSI at Buttermilk Falls State Park as we explore and compare aquatic life found under the rocks in Buttermilk Creek. This family-friendly, hands-on program invites participants to wade into the stream in search of benthic macroinvertebrates—small, spineless organisms visible without a microscope that live at the bottom of the creek. We will collect and identify these organisms and learn how they are used to assess water quality and overall ecosystem health. Participants interested in following scientific protocols will also have the opportunity to assist in collecting an official sample after the main program has concluded.
This 1.5-hour program takes place entirely outdoors along Buttermilk Creek within Buttermilk Falls State Park. The experience is highly hands-on and involves wading into shallow stream areas to collect and examine aquatic organisms. Caregivers must be able and willing to enter the creek alongside their child and actively participate in the in-stream portion of the program.
About CSI: CSI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and NYSDOH-certified water testing laboratory (ELAP #11790) dedicated to inspiring and empowering communities to safeguard water resources through volunteer monitoring, certified laboratory analyses, and education. For more information, visit our website: www.communityscience.org.
Accommodations: We are committed to making this program accessible and inclusive. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific needs or accommodations.
This class is a great opportunity to give yourself the space you need for rest and rejuvenation. Allowing yourself to disconnect from the outside world and daily pressures, the intention of this class is to create an environment where people feel safe enough to heal their energy. This free event serves as a gateway for individuals interested in learning how Reiki and Sound Healing works and to see if that’s something that can help benefit them on their healing journey. You can secure your spot in my class on the Vestal Public Library’s website by visiting their online Event Calendar!
